This 1970’s-style lake home was dramatically transformed into a beautiful lake retreat. The owners opted to remodel the entire house from top to bottom to take advantage of the home’s close proximity to the lake. In addition to updating their home’s appearance inside and out, the owners chose to add a master suite addition above the garage without adding to the building footprint. By eliminating the dividing walls between the kitchen, dining room, and living room, they opened up the floor plan.
The previous interior décor was replaced with light toned woods and stone to convey a warm, inviting atmosphere. Raising the roof pitch allowed for more windows, which in turn, let in more light to the main floor. Timber beams and a wood vaulted ceiling throughout the kitchen and living room added character. The enlarged kitchen features granite countertops with knotty alder cabinetry and stainless steel appliances. On the exterior, cedar shake siding and simulated stone accents gave the home a whole new identity.
